Frequently asked Questions

our most commonly asked questions

Do I need to be home when you do the work?
No, since most homeowners are working during the day, we are accustomed to working without the homeowner present.
Will you remove all debris from the job or will we have to call the town or someone else to haul off the logs?
We are a total tree removal company. We remove all limbs, trunks of trees, and debris. We want your yard to be just as clean, or cleaner than before the job was started.

However, if we do any stump grinding, we leave the grindings unless it is specified otherwise in the estimate (for which there is an additional charge). Most of our customers use these grindings for mulch around other trees and shrubs, as it is very healthy for them.
Do you top trees?
No, topping is considered unprofessional work. In fact, standards for tree care published by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), prohibit topping. Topping promotes decay and produces rapid growth of smaller limbs that are weakly attatched. Also, since many of the leaves are cut away from topping, it may cause the tree to starve and decrease its ability to produce energy.
Do I need to pay a portion for the work upfront?
No. Payment is due once the job is complete. Payment can be made by cash, check or credit card (service fee applies).
When is the best time of year to have my trees pruned?
Any broken limbs or dead wood can be pruned at any time of the year. Whereas heavy pruning is best done during the winter season while trees are dormant and less prone to the stress, which can sometimes kill.
Besides saving the landscaping, are there other reasons it's better to use a crane for tree removal?
Yes, two of the most important reasons are for the protection of the foundation of your home, and also to prevent cracks in swimming pools.

Typically, when a tree weighing anywhere from 2,000 to 12,000 pounds is dropped close to your home or pool, it can cause repercussions through the ground, similar to a small to medium size earthquake. These repercussions can create small cracks in the foundation of your home, or in your pool, which can go unnoticed for years. When using the crane, you alleviate all chances of this happening.
